DHB 200, better known as 1-testosterone, is a 5alpha reduced variant of the steroid boldenone. This absence of 5alpha reduction in the compound allows users to take it without experiencing the negative side effects usually linked to this chemical process, but it also removes some associated benefits. Dihydroboldenone is not the only steroid that exhibits similarities to boldenone; indeed, it is chemically the same as methenolone, except for the 1-methylation present in methenolone.

The purpose of adding 1-methylation to methenolone was to enhance its oral bioavailability, which is why dihydroboldenone is not effectively absorbed when taken by mouth, even though it was previously available over the counter in tablet and pill forms. Some of these over-the-counter drug formulations utilized a delivery system akin to Andriol, creating an oil-solubilized product containing dihydroboldenone. Nevertheless, this method of delivery wouldn't be particularly effective for maximizing the compound's potential. As with most anabolic steroids, intramuscular injection remains the most effective way to administer it.

As previously stated, DHB 200 has a structural resemblance to methenolone and boldenone, and is less similar to testosterone, despite its commonly recognized name, 1-testosterone. Consequently, this might attract some female athletes to use DHB 200. While the risk of virilization symptoms persists, they are not as extreme as those induced by synthetic testosterone or other stronger drugs. However, it should not be assumed that DHB 200 is a mild substance. To clarify what the drug is, one could say that it is to boldenone what dihydrotestosterone (DHT) is to testosterone. This comparison helps illustrate why the positive and negative effects of DHB 200 differ significantly from those of boldenone. Similar to testosterone and dihydrotestosterone, a portion of the boldenone a user takes is converted to dihydroboldenone. Furthermore, like dihydrotestosterone, dihydroboldenone does not convert into anything beyond that compound.

The dosing frequency for DHB 200 is contingent upon the ester combined with the compound. Currently, cypionate appears to be the most favored ester for producing the drug. Generally, males would administer a dosage of 200-400 mg of DHB 100 per week. For women, the cycle starts at a low dose of 25 mg per week, which gradually increases to a peak dose of 75 mg per week.
